The finely braided rawhide cord was made by TCA veteran, Nate Wald and the metal work by TCA founding member, Scott Hardy.

Scott Hardy TCA Marked Buckle on Ostrich Belt

Exquisite and fine 3-piece buckle set created by Scott Hardy for the 2006 TCAA (Traditional Cowboy Arts Association) Exhibition and Sale, the Organization’s annual pinnacle art event. The ostrich belt features 3 sets of engraved and diamond gold hinges. Marked with the TCA logo reserved for exhibition pieces, as well as numerous maker-marks. Three-color gold, with eleven 1/4-carat Canadian diamonds (overall). Buckle measures 2 5/8” in diameter. Belt measures 40 1/2" overall and fits a 30-33” waist. A stunning and beautiful presentation all around.

From the TCAA 2006 Exhibition & Sale Catalog: “This lady's three-piece and hinged set was created, in Scott Hardy's words, ‘to capture both the effortless elegance plus the underlying complication of the West.’ The fully filigreed and hand-engraved set has 18K yellow gold edge and flowers with five diamond pods. Flowing from the flowers are intertwining scrolls of 18K yellow, green and 14K red gold all set on the sterling silver buckle, keeper and tip."

Dale Harwood 1999 TCAA Exhibition Saddle

Dale Harwood 1999 TCAA Exhibition Saddle. From the very first TCAA exhibition in September of 1999 at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, this saddle is a masterpiece of saddle maker’s art. Built on a 15” Wade tree, 7/8 double flat plate rigging, 4” cantle with Cheyenne roll, full tame-rose carving, sterling silver horn cap, conchos and stirrup bolts hand-engraved by Harwood. Hand engraved silver maker's plate on seat reads "DALE HARWOOD / MAKER TCA (logo) / SHELLEY, IDAHO".

Troy West (TCAA) Tooled Saddle

Custom saddle by noted maker and Traditional Cowboy Arts Association member, Troy West. This positively stunning, fully tooled saddle boasts an illustrious history, having won 1st Place at the annual Wichita Falls Competition, 1st Place at the Panhandle Leather Show, and then went on display at the famous Luskey's / Ryon's in Fort Worth, Texas. Troy built this saddle, the tree (Olin Young), and the silver conchos. The seat is 16" and the matching tapaderos are 24".  A true piece of cowboy art by one of our contemporary masters.

Mark Dahl TCAA Card Suit Bit. 

Beautiful Mark Dahl bit from the 2000 Traditional Cowboy Arts Association (TCAA) Sale & Exhibition. Marked inside, “Mark / 2000 / TCA” & “Deeth / NV / #293”. The bit is a duplicate of the one he made for the very first TCAA sale, except that first bit featured hearts and diamonds, whereas this example features clubs and spades. A true work of art, with fine engraving inside the cheeks, on the roller cover and rope motif. Triple slobber chains with a central heart spacer.

Mark Dahl (TCAA) California Spurs. Wonderful, inlaid California spurs with Mark Dahl’s exquisite engraved silver inlay on both sides, top and bottom. The impressive 3” rowels are inlaid on each of the 22 points. Dahl also designed and crafted the conchos and three-piece buckles. Additionally, he made the tooled leather spur straps, something he doesn’t often do. This showy pair boasts many unique features such as a barrel style mounting for the swinging strap buttons and sweeping chap guard on the 3” shank.

Scott Hardy TCAA Sterling & 14K Vase

Elegant, handcrafted case by the master silversmith, Scott Hardy. Intricate and impressive, the top edges of the vase are filigreed in flower and scroll design; the sides are high relief two-color 14K gold. Marked “SCOTT HARDY / LONGVIEW / AB. CANADA / 1 OF 1”, stamped Sterling and 14K. 8 1/4" tall, opening is 4" x 4" as is the base. The vase has been used by the original owner as intended, but is still in fine condition overall showing only a few minor dents. A rare opportunity to own a one-of-a-kind artwork by a highly sought-after master craftsman whose pieces rarely become available on the secondary market.

Scott Hardy
Scott Hardy is a member of the prestigious organization The Traditional Cowboy Arts Association. Hardy, a fifth generation stockman, understands the dedication required to excel. Though largely self-taught, Hardy acknowledges the influence of modern masters Al Pecetti and Mark Drain. In his 31st year as a full-time silversmith and engraver, Hardy was commissioned by the Calgary Stampede to create 100 hand-engraved, silver and gold buckles commemorating the Stampede’s 2012 Centennial. Canada Post issued a stamp featuring Hardy’s buckle to celebrate the Stampede’s centennial making Hardy the first silversmith with work featured on a Canadian stamp. A full-time silversmith and engraver since 1981, Scott has been honored by the Academy of Western Artists, receiving the 2001 Will Rogers Award as Engraver of the Year. In 1994 his was judged Best of Show at the Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, Nevada.
