Gros Ventre/Assiniboine Beaded Moccasins. Split tongue beaded moccasins with yellow-ochred hide. Bright geometric designs, executed in white-heart red, rose, three shades of blue, pea green, yellow and white. Finished off with fringe down each heel and leather soles. 10" long. Minor bead losses. Circa 1890, with Pohrt collection paper tag.

Provenance: Richard Pohrt, Sr. to Morning Star Gallery to current owner. Accompanying this lot is a book autographed by Mr. Pohrt.

Kiowa Beaded Shirt

Kiowa Beaded Shirt. A Native tanned and sinew-sewn deer hide shirt with 17" long fringe on the shoulders, arms and the yellow ochre bib. Beadwork decorates the fringe at each location. A deer tail hangs from the back. 36" shoulder to hem, 60" and across the sleeves. Circa 1920-1930.

Central Plains Beaded Rifle Scabbard

Native tanned hide, beaded and fringed gun sheath. Remnants of red wool trade cloth decoration. Beaded in cobalt, pale blue, white, yellow and white-heart red, with panels at muzzle and beaded strips with yellow ochre on hide at the throat. 47" long; 17" longest fringe. Circa last quarter 19th century.
Provenance: Sotheby's Parke-Bernet auction, 1970s, tag attached.

Pictorial Lakota Beaded Coat

A fine European-cut, Lakota beaded coat on native tanned hide with horse motif. Five pair of colorful beaded horses: blue and red on front, and white, burgundy, and yellow & blue on verso. Great beading details, such as single bead eyes and colored ears. Five beaded pair of horseshoe tracks adorn the front, in shades of green, purple and blue. Heavily fringed and accented with a beaded diagonal design of yellow, red and aqua blue. Long leather drops hang from the pony tracks and the back. Wonderfully visual and unique. 29” long with fringe; circa early 20th century.

Large, Plains Beaded Cradle

Beaded Plains cradle on Native tanned hide. Head and foot boards are fully beaded on fabric and sewn onto hide. The geometric design utilizes pale blue, cobalt, white, translucent red, yellow, black, green and pumpkin beads. Red wool bonnet adorned with larger translucent red and white beads. The upper edge is also trimmed in red wool. Soft hide encases the frame. Fringe attached to the upper and lower edges. 42" long, the width tapers from 16". With custom metal wall hanging support.
